Newest intern brings graphic design skills
The Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation welcomes a student from Three Rivers Community College who is interning at the foundation during the spring semester.
Jordan Leroy, who will graduate in May with an associate’s degree in graphic design, is helping the foundation with graphic designs for social media and website use. She will do video designs and graphics for the annual meeting, including save the date, invitations and presentations. She will also take photos at the annual meeting. Most of her work is being done remotely.
Jordan works on the college newspaper, The Current, where she is the graphics manager. She and five other students write articles, take pictures and create graphics for the paper, which offers print and on-line editions. She is a graduate of St. Bernard High School, where she played tennis all four years.
She is looking forward to working with the foundation and to help fulfill its mission of giving 100 percent of donations to breast cancer research and focuses on up-and-coming researchers who are searching for a cure for breast cancer and better ways to treat the disease.
“I’m very happy this is where I’m doing my internship,” said the 22-year-old New London resident. “I think it’s great you guys give money to researchers who are newer to the field.”
Jordan also works at Mystic Aquarium where she photographs visitors, and takes candid pictures of those who have one-on-one experiences with the wildlife. She lives with her grandparents and her cat Cleo and creates handmade cards in her spare time.
