Sandy Maniscalco is a co-founder of the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation and currently serving as Director of Development & Operations.
Sandy has served in a number of roles since its launch in February 2006 (at both managerial and yeoman levels).
One of my greatest accomplishments is co-founding TBBCF with Norma McPhail Logan. Norma was an amazing woman and remains the spirit of TBBCF … and she continues to be my driving force. She recruited many of the core volunteers who remain active to this day. We all love the work we do for the Foundation. The way I see it: Norma Logan was our visionary and I am one of her life-long missionaries.
My favorite part of marathon walking has been filling the role of one of the training walk leaders. Marathon day is amazing but not as amazing as the dozens of training walks I have enjoyed with all the wonderfully committed marathoners. The walkers are true Logan’s Heroes.
In 2011 I became a Walk Team Co-Captain taking responsibility for the walk pit stops with my long-time friend, Bill MacDonald. Supporting walkers on walk day is every bit as gratifying as going on long training walks. Walkers love pit stops! The walkers, volunteers and supporters who come out year after year make the Walk a life-changing experience.
