A Beautiful Day for the 21st Annual Walk for a Cure

On October 3, 2026, walkers took to the pavement in Old Saybrook for the full marathon, East Lyme for the half marathon, Niantic for the quarter marathon, and Camp Harkness in Waterford for the 5K. 

Along the routes,162 volunteers worked to ensure walkers had everything they needed to complete their journey. They staffed Pit Stops every three miles, cheered on walkers and provided food and beverages, while cyclists helped ensure their safety. Our medical team was on hand to treat blisters and address any other issues, and our enthusiastic Spirit Team kept the encouragement going all along the way. Our sweep team was at the ready if needed, and photographers were located throughout the entire route capturing walkers’ enthusiasm.

It was a wonderful day of community, camaraderie, and commitment to raising funds for breast cancer research!
