Virtual Miles to Cure Breast Cancer
Registration for the 15th annual “Walk” – Virtual Miles to Cure Breast Cancer is OPEN!
By KATE DAVIS
Although we are not gathering in person as a foundation as this year is a virtual walk, we have been hearing that many of you will want to walk on October 3rd to keep the 1st Saturday in October as Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer day which is great.
If October 3rd is not convenient, you also have flexibility to complete your miles (which could include walking, running, biking, etc. this year) whenever is most convenient for you. In support of Breast Cancer Awareness month, we will keep registration open this year through the end of October.
We are planning a few virtual events on or around October 3rd, as we want this to continue to be our Walk Day, and we hope to be able to gather together again in person as a foundation that first Saturday in October 2021!
The fee for registration is $25 and is non-refundable. We ask that all participants, 12 years and older register. Because this is an extraordinary year, and we recognize potential challenges around fundraising, we have reduced fundraising targets for 2020 as follows: $150 for all walkers and $100 for cancer survivors and students (ages 12 – 22).
As in past years, all fundraising should be completed by the end of the calendar year. We also acknowledge that many of our supporters raise much more money for breast cancer research each year and set their own higher fundraising goals, and we thank you for that!
Although the format for our signature walk has changed for this year, our mission stays the same – committing to fighting breast cancer by directing 100% of gross fundraising dollars directly to breast cancer research.
We hope you will join us for this year’s signature event. Since 2020 is virtual, we encourage you to get friends and family from across the country and the globe to join you. We are truly looking forward to continuing the fight to cure breast cancer – together. REGISTER NOW
