Board cancels 2020 annual meeting

Plans continue for 15th annual Walk Across Southeastern Connecticut

We hope all is well with our supporters, families and friends, as we face this new reality of social distancing and constant hand-washing. COVID-19 has made us all stop and think before hugging, shaking hands and gathering in groups.

Because of the uncertainty of the times, things are changing and we are adapting. We have decided to cancel our annual meeting, which was scheduled for May 12, 2020, at Flanders Fish Market. We initially thought to postpone to a later date but the Board of Directors decided to forego the event this year.

We were also scheduled to visit two of our new grant recipients in March at Massachusetts General Hospital and had hoped to bring you an update on their research. But as you all know, now is not the time. We hope to reschedule our meeting and will report directly back to you.

We are not letting the Coronavirus slow us down. We are working remotely on plans for the annual Walk Across Southeastern Connecticut, scheduled for Oct. 3, 2020. And, we are continuing with our 2020 Sponsor Campaign, keeping our generous donors up to date, and planning for what will be the 15th annual walk.

It’s been a remarkable 15 years. Together, we have raised nearly $5 million, which has gone directly to doctors, scientists and researchers all working to find a cure for breast cancer.

It’s amazing how the world has changed in such a short amount of time. Hope you all are doing well in this new reality. We’ll keep you updated on social media and on www.TBBCF.com.
