December Newsletter – Happy Holidays from the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation

Dear TBBCF Supporters,
On behalf of our Foundation Board of Directors, the 10th Anniversary Walk Leadership Team and our amazing volunteer core, we would like to wish you all the very best this holiday season! We are grateful for all that you do for TBBCF and we thank you!
2015 was a very exciting year for the Foundation. Walk and Events and Promotions donation dollars are still arriving at TBBCF. We feel confident we will reach our $300,000 goal!
This means that TBBCF will be able to provide three $100,000 grants to young researchers in the quest to make advancements on finding a cure for breast cancer! Our Scientific Advisory Committee is busy vetting through the many grant applications received and will announce the recipients this January. More

Celebrating Our 10th Anniversary Walk

From Opening to Closing Ceremonies, a day to remember
Sean Brodeur (top) and Channel 3’s Eric Parker (bottom)
The day started out at Saybrook Point with Opening Ceremonies.  Under threatening skies Walkers departed on their journey to complete 26.2 miles trekking from Old Saybrook to Waterford.  Our half and quarter marathon walkers joined the marathon walkers along the way making us 326 strong!!  Due to flooding on roads and over low lying areas the decision was made Friday evening to reroute the walkers in a few areas.
Did that deter the walkers?  No, it did not.  They went with the flow in grand style.  TBBCF Walkers and Volunteers are awesome!    More

Sponsors, Volunteers, Events and Promotions Supporters

You make Logan’s Promise possible – Happy Holidays!

Walk and/or administrative volunteers are the heart and soul of this Foundation. We are always looking for new volunteers.
In addition to company and individual donated goods and services, sponsors play a critical role in helping to achieve the goals of TBBCF by providing financial support to cover administrative costs.

TBBCF Events and Promotions supporters have an enormous impact on the Foundation’s bottom line.  What is most important is that they give of their time and focus energy to support our cause.  And in doing so they not only raise research dollars but they spread the word of TBBCF.  Our events and promotions supporters are one of our best source of advertising and recruiting. Thanks to all the 2015 participants.

Have you recently been diagnosed with breast cancer?

A UCONN research team is investigating how Connecticut breast cancer survivors engage in health behaviors.
Melanie Brodeur and Dalnim Cho.

This study promises to provide important information for helping other survivors to stay healthy. The lead investigator is Dalnim Cho. Working on this study team with Dalnim is Terri and Tim Brodeur’s daughter, Melanie Brodeur, a UCONN Junior. Dalnim and Melanie presented their research proposal at the TBBCF September 17 Research Symposium at the L+M Cancer Center in Waterford, Connecticut.  Eligible and interested in participating in this study?
