Realtors’ event raises $10,000

Eastern Connecticut Association of Realtors surpasses fundraising goal for 2019

The Eastern Connecticut Association of Realtors hosted its eighth annual Spirit of Pink on Oct.18th at the Lake of Isles in North Stonington.  This year the association raised $10,000 at the event and donated it to the to the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation. Last year the group raised $6,482.

The group presented a check Nov. 19 to TBBCF’s treasurer and founding board member, Stacey Gualtieri, and 2019 walk director and foundation director of operations, Kate Davis.

Anne Ogden, a recent cancer survivor and honorary chair of the TBBCF’s 2019 Walk Across Southeastern Connecticut, gave the keynote address at the Oct. 18 event. She talked about her struggles facing a cancer diagnosis about being hopeful that a cure will be found. 

Gualtieri, also addressed the crowd emphasizing the importance of events and promotions such as the Spirit of Pink that help us reach our goal of funding breast cancer researchers each year.

The event was hosted by the 2019 ECAR Affiliate Committee and serving as masters of ceremony were Nicole Crimm and Christopher Albanase.

TBBCF donates 100 percent of its fundraising dollars for breast cancer research in the form of $100,000 grants. To date, TBBCF has awarded more than $4.4 million in research grants.
